Description

A fine quality, late Victorian period, inlaid rosewood cylinder desk. Of excellent construction by the prestigious London cabinet makers W J Mansell of Fulham Road. Made with attractive rosewood veneers onto a mahogany carcas. Decorated throughout with fine inlaid detailing, including floral and musical scenes and, swags and harebells. The top fitted with a 3/4 gallery. The lockable drawer pulls out and by doing so retracts the cylinder fall-front to reveal a fitted interior. The flap then folds down to reveal the writing surface fitted with a sumptuous blue leather. All standing on elegant tapering legs which terminate in spade feet. This desk is finished all around so it could be free standing within a room if desired. Sympathetically refinished in our workshops to a very high standard and now offered for sale with a great colour and patina, ready to go straight into the home.
