Elegant Tall English Sterling Silver Jewellery Box - 1907

Description

A stunning and most unusual jewelry / ring box made from English sterling silver hallmarked for London 1907, Edwardian in era. The makers mark is also present for the top notch silversmith, Mappin & Webb.

The box stands on the three most wonderful tall cast reticulated legs with ribbon and bow detail. The top of the circular hinged lid is framed with a continuous raised acanthus leaf garland.

The hinged lid opens to reveal the original clean emerald green velvet lining and the original gilding to the underside of the lid.

A truly special box in excellent condition with minor wear commensurate with age. 3 1/2" x 3 5/8" tall.
