Description

Antique French Kingwood commode chest of small proportions with some intricate floral marquetry on the top, sides & the drawer fronts. It also has gilt bronze mounts, feet & handles. There’s cross banding on the top edge in a lighter wood & more cross bandings on the drawers & the sides. It’s in good condition & has just been french polished. This chest would be very useful as a side table in a hall or living room & I would date it to around the 1920’s. While the majority of the wood is kingwood, there are many other woods involved, especially within the marquetry.
