Description

A superb quality mahogany Chippendale Revival dining room suite comprising of a dining table, 8 chairs including two carver chairs and a sideboard. The dining table with a solid mahogany top with two leaf insertions (making the table suitable for 4,6 or 8 chairs around), having a gadrooned carved edge and vitruvian scrolled frieze, supported on acanthus carved cabriole supports with claw and ball feet. The chairs of traditional Chippendale design with pierced ribbon backs and acanthus carved detail with drop in green leather seats, also supported on acanthus carved cabriole supports with claw and ball feet. The accompanying sideboard having a raised galleried back also with acanthus carving and fine fretwork moulding and a solid mahogany top. Having flame veneered cupboards and drawer front with cast brass handles and escutcheons and further fine carved detail, the doors opening to reveal a fitted cutlery drawer, cellarette and shelf. The whole supported on eight acanthus carved cabriole supports and paw feet. English circa 1900-1910
