Description

A fabulous Victorian novelty cruet, beautifully cast and made from English silver plate. Cast in the form of a an Asian man carrying the original glass cruet items in the form of buckets and barrels, amazing to find all three original glass pieces.

This piece is lucky enough to have an English design diamond shaped registration mark allowing us to date the registration of this piece to 17th October 1871; it is marked in two places, the underside of the stand and the underside of the figure.

The underside of the stand is also fully marked with the maker's initials for the Sheffield silversmith's, George Travis and Co.

A rare model and in superb condition measuring 6" x 3 1/2" x 6 1/2" tall.
