This is an antique overmantel mirror, an English, Regency, dome topped wall mirror with nautical overtones, in giltwood and gesso dating to the early 19th century, circa 1830.

Classic dome topped design

Dressed with knotted rope and tassel detail to the crest and brackets

Mid-sized and of good proportion

The frame moulding traced with twin roped detail

Standing upon semi-circular pads flanking a plain base rail

Later mirror plate in good order

A fine example supplied with mounting lugs ready to hang. Delivered ready for the home.
