18th Century Verge Bracket Clock by Barraud

Description

Francis Barraud, LONDON: A fine and original 18th century BRACKET CLOCK in perfect working order.

The ebonised case with its cast carrying handle and 4 original finials, features pierced brass spandrels to the front door and a gilt brass bound base with solid brass feet. The 8-day movement retains its original verge escapement, striking hours on a bell, with pull-repeat and with a beautifully engraved backplate. The dial has "Strike/Silent" control in the arch; mock pendulum and date aperture above "VI".
