Antique silver Waltham half hunter pocket watch.

The watch has a stem-winding movement, Traveler grade, which is working nicely. The movement is fully signed and the serial number 17,787,447 dates it back to 1909. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover which has some surface scratching.

The watch measures 52mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is a silver 2oz case which is hallmarked for Birmingham 1919 inside all three covers. The case also has the maker's mark for Aaron Dennison... the Dennison Watch Case Company supplied various watch makers with cases but they had a particularly close relationship with Waltham. The case has fairly light surface marks, nothing too serious. The back of the watch has ornate initials.

There is a discrepancy in dates which confirms that the movement is not original to the case, possibly could have been replaced if the original movement was water damaged perhaps.

The winding crown pushes in to open the front cover. Inside there is an acrylic lens which is in good condition.

The signed dial looks good to the naked eye. If viewed through a magnifying loupe there is a faint hairline crack at the bottom. Blued steel hands, including the special half hour hunter hand so that the time can be read when the front cover is closed.

The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.
