Description

Large 19th.c. two tier oak buffet or serving sideboard. Heavily carved three drawer top, with fish and leaf design interspaced with animal masks, raised on four turned and carved columns above a shelved three door cupboard base. The carving continues with green man masks to each door as well as to either side, surrounded by fish and acanthus leaves, with forest fruit and additional animal masks between the doors. Raised on a set of carved bun feet. Excellent condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops with key supplied. Bearing a stamp for celebrated manufacturers Edwards & Roberts of Wardour Street, London.

Founded in 1845, Edwards and Roberts became synonymous with high quality furniture, producing items to a very high standard using the finest timbers.
