A Rare Oak Arts & Crafts Period Hall Robe by Shapland & Petter of Barnstaple

1900 - 1920
Description

A rare oak Arts & Crafts Period hall robe by Shapland & Petter of Barnstaple. Having a flared oak cornice above rectangular oak doors with fine hand beaten copper strap work hinges and handles. The doors open to reveal storage. The open front in fine quarter sawn oak with four fielded panels to the inside and three brass coat hooks. The sides have further brass coat hooks, a glove box and a shelf. The whole supported on shaped block front supports, stamped L48 to the reverse. English circa 1900. As illustrated on page 29 of Daryl Bennetts Shapland & Petter Ltd, Arts and Crafts furniture book.

Dimensions: 45" wide x 18" deep x 79" high

Condition: This hall robe is in superb condition, it would originally of had an umbrella hook and drip tray to the side which is now absent.
