Early C19th George IV period mahogany buffet or etagere of unusual design and form.

High quality carved mahogany 3 tier buffet with unusual inset glass central shelf . Apparently original, the glass providing a practical surface for both bottle storage or display.

The carved columnar uprights with carved 'stiff leaf' detail and square rosette bosses on the shoulder of the platforms. The top with unusual and distinctive carved and turned finials to each corner . The back with a well-executed carved classically-inspired scroll upstand .

The whole raised on compressed bun feet with concealed castors for ease of movement.

A useful scale practical serving table , buffet or etagere in excellent original condition with no damage or repairs. The well-chosen grade of mahogany with a good rich original patina and colour.
