Description
A dramatic Victorian brooch. This impressively designed piece features forty-five rose cut diamonds grain set in open back settings, with nine verdant green rubover-set emeralds, with an articulated pear drop at the bottom. This heavyweight brooch is crafted in silver, with yellow gold wash at the back and on the settings of the emeralds. Cut – Round and and pear cut emeralds with rose cut diamonds. Colour – The diamonds range from G to J. Clarity – The round diamonds are SI1 to I1. There are some visible inclusions in the emerald, which is normal (and expected) for this gemstone). Carat – A total approximate diamond weight of 0.90 carat, with an approximate emerald weight of 1.40 carat. Circa – 1900. Measurements – From top to bottom is 50mm and is 48.3mm at the widest point.
