A truly superb quality mid-19th LADY'S DRESSING & JEWELLERY CASE in 'mint' condition.

The well-figured rosewood box is finely inlaid with brass and mother-of-pearl and opens to reveal the stunning interior with ten beautifully engraved silver-topped bottles and jars (all perfect) and a central tray of tools. These include the finest pair of cut steel scissors we have ever seen! (The row of scent bottles at the rear can be lifted out if required).

To the base is the silk and velvet-fitted jewellery drawer, and it is complete with its original pair of working keys. Signed by the makers: Hausburg of Liverpool. Hallmarked London 1843
