The case is in Black leather, and carries the Au Départ monogram with the Ave.de L’Opéra Paris shop
embossed in silver
The main body of the case has a lift out section, and 2 matching hair brushes, 5 silver topped bottles, one even has the original shaving soap, inkwell and a box containing a small safety razor and brush set, a razor strop and one more hall marked silver lid with no container.
Beneath the lift out tray there is a silk covered note book, leather letter folder which still contains some of the original writing paper and envelopes, also pen and pen holder
Au Départ was founded in 1834 upon the advent of railway travel. I t was one of the worlds top 3 Luggage manufacturers, particularly noted for luxury fitted interiors
The set is in wonderful condition, bearing in mind it is well over 100years old
