Unusual Antique English Silver Box - Figural Scene - London 1891

Description

A stunning and most unusual silver box made from a good heavy gauge of English sterling silver fully hallmarked for London.

The box has all over embossed or repousse decoration, beautifully executed, every running around the corners on the side to create one continuous scene. The hinged lid of the box has figural scene of an English village. Quite charming.

The lid fits well and once opened reveals a lavishly gilded interior. The makers mark is also present for Stuart Clifford.

Excellent quality and condition measuring 3 1/4" x 2 1/2" x 1 7/8" tall. 129.4 Grams / 4.16 Troy Ounces.
