Puckerings has dated this piece to the 1890s.
Made from solid English brass with a good quality screwed construction, the handle and the outside of the lens are both covered in tiles of Mother of Pearl or Nacre shell with a bright patina showcasing it's iridescent qualities.
The brass has been professionally polished to gleam. The glass has good magnification and is in excellent undamaged condition. Late Victorian in era dating to c.1890.
