Scottish Georgian Mahogany Longcase Clock. Circa 1830

Description

Fine Scottish late Georgian highly figured mahogany longcase or grandfather clock having 8 day striking movement by Charles Sheddon of Perth. The well painted dial with Scottish poets in corners (Scott, Burns, Ramsay & Fergusson) and Fair Maid of Perth in arch. The movement has been fully overhauled and is in perfect working order. The highly figured case is in very fine condition and has its original feet. There is a slight crack to the veneers in the base but hardly noticeable. Wonderful rich colour with great waxed patina. Comes complete with all keys.

Size; 85" high, 19" wide at hood, 9.5" deep at hood. 13" across dial.
