Regency Mahogany Sofa Table

19th century
Description

Regency mahogany sofa table

We are pleased to offer you this Regency mahogany sofa table that was made circa 1810. This was at a time when England was basking in the great naval victory of Admiral Horatio Nelson at the Battle of Trafalgar. It is said that the black line inlays were high fashion as it was in memorial of Nelsons death at that famous naval engagement.

We have left this elegant sofa table in its well-cared for original finish. The mahogany has faded to a lovely mellow colour and has the signs of its 200 years of use.

This sofa table is the double-sided version of partners design, with a working drawer and a dummy drawer to each side.

The table is supported by a pair of mahogany fine plain and 3 ring turned column supports, above the double swept legs finishing with brass paw caps and rolling castors under.

The legs with ebony inlays.

The top is of the usual form fitted with a flap to each end that lifts into place, that are then supported by a pair of swing out wings from the sub frame.

This Regency sofa table can be used in many places around the home.

Imagine how good this will look once in your home, and the admiring glances it will get from family and friends.

101cms wide with flaps down (39 3/4ins)

67cms deep (26 1/2ins)

71.5cms high (28ins)

148cms with flaps up for use (58ins)
