Puckerings has dated this piece to the Edwardian era.
The attractively shaped frame incorporates an embossed or repousse fluted design, a central large Fleur de Lys at the bottom and a framed cartouche to the top retaining the original feint regal monogram.

The backing is made from solid English oak and incorporates a strong hinged easel back stand.
This example is also lucky enough to have an English design registration number (339949) which dates this design to 1899.
Grand in scale measuring 13 1/2" tall x 11" with a glazed aperture measuring 9 3/4" x 8".
