Description

A good and large Capo Di Monte style casket, c. 1890. The substantial casket moulded in typical style, with enamelled mythological panels of figures in battle scenes, and indulgent revelry. All within gilt panels, edged with gilt scroll work. The rim of the cover, with a continuous band of Putti holding a floral swag. Having a faux bamboo gilt metal mounted rim, and clasp, and having a velvet lined interior.

Underglaze blue Crowned ‘N’ to the base.

Height - 14.5 cm, 5 3/4”.

Length - 20 cm, 7 7/8”.

Depth - 14.5 cm, 5 3/4”.
