Castleforge Antiques Ltd has dated this piece to the 1890s.
It has a flared cornice top with walnut frieze above two glazed doors with original stylised handle and working key. There are three adjustable shelves and it has its original oak backing boards. The base has a moulded edge to the top with a long drawer which is oak lined and with original stylised handles. This is above two fielded panelled doors both of which have a carved central panel of floral and foliate design and with original stylised handle. Internally there is a single shelf. It stands on archictectural stylised squared legs with a shaped support. It has panelled sides.

Separates for ease of transporting.
The quality of the walnut, the design and workmanship lead US to believe that this lovely bookcase was made by arthur simpson of kendal.
It now has a lovely colour to the walnut and with original patination. It is in very good condition and I am sure that whoever buys this will be very pleased with their purchase.
It measures: 90" high X height to base 41" X internal depth 10.5" (top) X 49" wide
