A Rare Georgian Silver Nutmeg Grater

Description

A delightful Georgian silver egg shaped nutmeg grater from 1802. This rare piece is in excellent condition. With few surviving in good condition, it is a lovely find. The body is beautifully decorated with crisp bright cut decoration and engraving. A round cartouche is found to the top of the lid with the initials 'AE'. The body unscrews from the centre to reveal the original steel grater which is removable. A full set of hallmarks can be found inside the lid. A wonderful, rare and collectable piece.
