Puckerings has dated this piece to the 1890s.
The dish stands on four highly decorative shaped legs.
The revolving lid is kept closed with the help of a key on a chain.

When the knob at the front is pushed back the dome revolves to reveal the two original shallow trays. These are perfect on a buffet to serve either hot (with hot water beneath) or cold (with crushed ice below) dishes; a very impressive addition to any occasion.
A quality Victorian example in superb condition dating to c.1890. 13 3/4" handle to handle x 9" (plus knob) x 8 1/2" tall.
