Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Italian alabaster carving developed significantly during the nineteenth century, particularly in centers like Volterra and Florence, where artisans created detailed figurative works and classical reproductions for collectors and Grand Tour travelers.

Sculptors used fine-grained, translucent alabaster stone, often paired with contrasting carved marble bases or plinths to enhance the stability and presentation of the figurative sculpture.

Authentic pieces feature crisp hand-carving details, natural stone translucency, subtle veining, period signatures near the base, and appropriate historical surface patina without modern synthetic coatings.

Positioning stone sculptures on a mantelpiece, sideboard top, or well-lit shelving unit creates a focal point, where directional light highlights the soft opacity and carved details of the stone.

Alabaster is a soft, porous mineral sensitive to moisture; dust gently using a soft, dry brush and avoid water, liquid cleaners, or high humidity environments to prevent stone degradation.
