Late 19th century rosewood novelty cigar-box in the form of a dog-kennel; the pitched roof enclosing slots for 16 cigars; the well-modelled bronze dog looking out onto a fruiting vine against a wall, with a carved wooden brush, a bucket for vestas and a striker in the form of a mat spread out in front. Probably Austrian.
John Beazor Antiques is a family firm, established in 1875 and based in Cambridge since 1940. We are a traditional antiques shop, but very much in the 21st century. We deal in 18th and early 19th century furniture, barometers and clocks. We choose our stock for its originality and for the quality of its colour, patination and design.
We are members of the BADA. We do not exhibit at fairs preferring to deal from our Cambridge shop where we hold an Open Weekend every November.
Open 9.00am 5.00pm, Tuesday to Friday, 10.00am - 4.00pm on Saturday. A prior phone call or email before visiting is always a good idea and we are happy to be contacted outside of business hours.
