Antique Waltham Half Hunter Pocket Watch and Chain

An antique Waltham half hunter pocket watch and chain.

The watch has a stem-winding movement, grade 625 with 17 jewels, which is working nicely. The movement is fully signed and the serial number 16,981,062 dates it back to 1908. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.

The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is gold plated and it was made by the Dennison Watch Case Company, an English company who supplied various watch manufacturers with cases, including Waltham UK. The case is in good condition, just a little gentle unevenness to the back but nothing too serious.

The front cover has a small lens surrounded by enamel filled Roman numerals. The winding crown is pushed in to open the front cover. Inside, there is an acrylic lens which is in good condition.

The signed white dial is in good condition and has blued steel hands (including the special half hunter hand), a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.

The watch comes with a double albert, with each chain measuring 21cm long incuding the T-bar and the clasp. There is also an unusual attachment to the shorter chain, including a mother of pearl centre piece, which sits nicely with the watch and chain.

The watch and chain will be sent in a new presentation box.
