Pair of Large Marble Urn Cassolettes C.1880.

Description

Fabulous pair of large late 19th.c. French marble and ormolu garnitures or cassolettes c.1880. Larger than most we see, standing 22" tall. Of Classical urn form in beautifully figured sienna marble on square plinth bases. With extensive and original gilded ormolu mounts cast as ram’s heads, laurel leaves and floral garlands. With a small chip from the top edge of the main body of one of the urns. Otherwise excellent condition.
