The Vintage Wrist Watch Company has dated this piece to the 1890s.
The watch has a key-wound movement, Sterling grade, which is working nicely. The movement is fully signed and the serial number 7,659,313 dates it back to 1896. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.
The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside the case back for Birmingham 1897 together with a maker's mark for Alfred Bedford, the manager of Waltham UK. Overall, the case is in very nice condition, just a couple of small knocks to the back but nothing too detrimental.

The watch glass is in good condition, just a couple of small nibbles which are barely noticeable to the naked eye.
The signed dial is in good condition, just a very faint hairline crack running between the centre and the sub seconds dial.

The watch comes with a heavy single chain, 31cm long including the T-bar and the clasp. The chain is hallmarked and each of the links has the lion passant mark. The chain weighs 67g including the silver football fob.
The watch and chain will be sent in a new presentation box.
