Signed - S Abeloos - oil on canvas mounted in an attractive wooden art deco frame. The painting shows a view of a French harbour and is inscribed on the rear '' souvenir du la manifestation du 17-11-1923'' Sonia Abeloos , was born in Brussels in 1876 and died in Brussels in 1969. She was a Belgian painter who painted mainly landscapes , seascapes and portraits .Abeloos was a pupil of the Brussels Academy, where she studied under the direction of Isidore Verheyden (1848-1905), Guillaume Van Strydonck (1861-1937) and Dillens and Rousseau . She was a member of the artistic circle of Brussels.In 1966, on the occasion of her 90th birthday, the National Council of Women , of which she was the oldest, honoured her by organizing a visit to his studio. There were exhibits representative of his 70 years of activity.
