Marylebone Antiques has dated this piece to the 1910s.
The advantage of these drop in seats is that they don’t cost much to recover. The carvers are larger in proportion the the other six chairs, as is often the case. All these chairs are in excellent condition, sturdy & sound. They have just been French polished & the colour of the wood is rich. I think you will be hard pushed to find a nicer original antique set in this style on the market. Please don’t confuse these with the brand new copies being passed of as old on the market.
