Georges Jacob (1768-1803) worked very early with his father and his brother François from which would take over the business in 1796 . François-Honoré-Georges (1770-1841) added the Desmalter patronym to his name. In 1803 with the death of his brother George II Jacob, a new company name was created which was called Jacob Desmalter & Co.

During the second ( 2nd ) French Empire Napoleon III requested many designs and 'Styles ' be recreated. The designs from the first French Empire such as original period furniture by master cabinet makers like Jacob were copied and reproduced.
