An unusual Edwardian trinket box. Beautifully made from silver and blue velvet, the box comes in the shape of a perfect heart. The side of the box forms the heart shape, is made from solid silver and clear hallmarks are visible for the Birmingham Assay Office with a date mark for 1903. The Lion Passant indicating sterling silver can also be seen along with the maker''s marks for the renowned silversmiths: Levi & Salaman. The base of the box and the lid are covered in a lovely navy blue velvet material and the top is padded. The lid is hinged and opens and closes perfectly.
