A superb solid silver and frosted glass butter / caviar dish. The silverwork is a wonderful pierced design with a protruded edge to the top and the base. The handles are a charming shape that further enhance the attractiveness of this item and it sits of four pretty feet. The glass liner is subtly frosted and has a star cut within the centre of the base. The marker''s marks for the silversmith Docker & Burn can be seen on the base, along with clear and crisp hallmarks for the Birmingham Assay office with a date mark for 1927 and bears the Lion Passant indicating sterling silver
Attention to the smallest detail is apparent in this very fine butter dish. The silverwork is of the finest. A beautiful dish!
