Description

This well-travelled and characterful GEORGIAN HIDE-COVERED AND METAL-BOUND TRAVELLING TRUNK dates from circa 1810.

It bears the original paper COMPANY LABEL of FURNELL & BAGNAL 'TRUNK MAKERS TO THE Hon. EAST INDIA COMPANY'.

The TRUNK, which has the remains of a brass studded initial 'K' on the top, is of small proportions and has wonderful, decorative appeal. The front clasp and escutcheon cover are particularly attractive.
