Description

Handsome early 19th.c. mahogany bureau or secretaire bookcase c.1820. In two pieces with a glazed bookcase top with three adjustable shelves over a secretaire base with a two door cupboard fitted with sliding shelves. Open the fall front drawer to reveal a leather top writing surface and a fitted interior of small stationery drawers and pigeon holes. Simple uncluttered design with a crisp moulded and crossbanded cornice, attractive carved detail to the glazing bars, original hand blown glass panes and a satinwood veneered interior. Superior quality, note the beautifully figured solid mahogany boards on the sides, the mahogany ground work to the door panels and oak drawer linings. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and polished in our workshops. Key supplied.
