Regency Linen Press C.1820.

Description

Beautiful Regency linen press c.1820. Two door cupboard top fitted with five sliding shelves over a chest of four useful deep drawers. A superb example of the form with particularly well figured flame mahogany veneers to the door panels and drawer fronts. Note also the ebony stringing and crossbanded edge to the door panels and the unusual ebony edge to the surrounding frame. Topped with a simple moulded cornice with crossbanded frieze and with a shaped apron and feet to the base. Brass door trim and original brass handles to the drawer fronts. Solid mahogany sides and unusual cedar wood slides and drawer linings. Splits into two pieces for ease of delivery.
