The Vintage Wrist Watch Company has dated this piece to the 1900s.
The watch has a stem-winding movement , grade 197, which is working well. The movement is signed with the Elgin name and the serial number 8053099 dates it back to 1900.
The watch measures 47.8mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is gold filled and is the Planet model made by the Crescent Watch Case Co.

The glass lens has light marking from use although very acceptable.
The white enamel dial is later and has a small nibble to the outer edge at 12 o'clock although hardly noticeable.
The watch has blued steel hands.
The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.
