Description

Beautiful little George III mahogany pedestal sideboard c.1800. Narrow pagoda top cupboard pedestals (with a bottle drawer to the top of the right hand pedestal) joined with a bow fronted serving board with three drawers hidden in the front edge. The small centre drawer (rather than a fixed panel or dummy front) is a rare feature. Beautiful early timbers across the piece with solid tops and flame mahogany veneers to the door and drawer fronts. Classically influenced raised and tapering door panels with carved gardrooned tops and a crisply carved frieze to the base with scrolling acanthus leaves and claw feet. Superb original large gilded brass handles. Solid mahogany sides and drawer linings. Original locks. Excellent condition and particularly good colour, cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Key supplied.
