This is an exceptional Welsh oak cwpwrdd tridarn (three-part cupboard). A bold cornice surmounts the top section, which has a panelled back and sides with asymmetrical slats and turned columns and drop-finials. The middle section has a carved central panel featuring a Renaissance arch, sunrise design and various other devices, as well as the marriage initials ''TIM'' (for I plus M with the surname T) and the date 1727; this is flanked by a pair of doors with square raised and fielded panels. The base section has three panelled drawers over a pair of rectangular panels, flanked by a pair of panelled doors, raised on stile feet.
Wonderful deep colour and surface patination.
