Hingstons of Wilton has dated this piece to the 1850s.
Indian carved teak doors with original paint arch detail were made in the 19thc.
Originally made in solid teak, for a large house for a British family home in India.

Normally the original paint has been stripped or painted over, but these have retained the eye catching blue.
The doors with applied carded moulding that finish with a pointed arch.
For strength there are iron vertical straps that add to the decorative effect.
