Mytton Antiques - Jerrard Nares has dated this piece to the 1750s.
The octagonal mahogany cellarette with a hinged lid, finished with a mould edge.
The body tapering gently inward and downward, to a small raised foot rim. The cellarette resting on the conforming stand, the rounded rim above four splayed legs, with mould outer edges, and chamfered inner edges. The legs joined to the rim with scrolled open brackets. The legs finished with small squat castors. The whole with broad brass banding, a rounded oval loop handle to open the lid and substantial carrying handles to either end. Complete with key, and drainage plug.
Height 28 inches, width 25 inches, depth 19 inches.
