Large Antique Pine High Back Curved Box Settle

Description

A beautiful 19th Century pine curved high back settle with shaped arms, a planked back and double lift-up box seat. It is excellent quality and a good large size, likely made for a country estate.

It is in good condition for its age and has a wonderful look. There are signs of age and wear and many signs of historic worm throughout the piece. Where necessary small repairs and restorations have been sympathetically made, including a replacement piece of wood at the back of the seat. All the old worm has been treated as a precaution and further treated with a wood hardener to capture the piece in its original state while making it strong and sturdy and usable for another 100 years to come. The whole piece has been cleaned and given a light wax and is ready for the home.
