An unusual find- A Desire for souvenirs, housewares, and furniture decorated with fern motifs grew from a trend in botanical exploration in Britain that became widespread from the 1840s and reached fever pitch by the 1850s.
 
This is a rare example of a Mauchline ''Fernware'' octagonal occasional table from Scotland. Supported on three bobbin turned legs merging into a four-legged base. A very rare and unusual table with fernwear to the top surface of the table.
 
The table is in good condition dating from around 1840.
