Description

Unusual early 20th.c. Italian alabaster bust of a girl c.1910. Cleverly modelled in three different coloured alabasters, the beautifully observed face, hair and neck in white whilst the headscarf is of a yellower stone and her clothes have a deep purple veining. With a painted gilt detail and mounted on a shallow Carrara marble plinth. Signed Carpi on the rear. Excellent condition.
