An Exquisite Example of an Early Rosewood Writing Slope of small proportions of Continental origin, possibly French. Circa first half of the Nineteenth Century probably French Regency period. The entire main area with lavish brass inlay on well figured Rosewood opening to reveal a fitted interior. Condition: This Slope has been carefully restored including light polishing. The leather panel has been professionally replaced (see image). Lock present and working, lacking key. All brass inlay is present. Width: 14" (35.5cm). Depth: 9.5" (24cm).
