Delightfully pretty little patinated copper bowl emebellished with applied silver decoration all around, and showing on the underside the mark of the Duchess of Sutherland Cripples' Guild.
Raised off a circular foot, the bowl itself has a flared rim and a lightly hammered finish.
Silver in the form of a double grape vine with leaves and bunches of grapes, decorates the belly of the bowl, contrasting very effectively with the deep patination of the copper.
Dating from circa 1910, with a height of 10 cm and a diameter of 13.5 cm.
The DSCG was set up in 1898 by Millicent, Duchess of Sutherland. Metalwork classes under the supervision of Francis Arthur Edwards were started in 1902 and the guild finally closed in 1922.
