An antique silver Waltham pocket watch.

The watch has a key-wound movement which is working nicely. The movement is fully signed and the serial number 5489484 dates it back to between August 1892 - May 1893. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.

The watch measures 53.5mm diameter excluding the stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside the case back for Chester 1878, with a case maker's mark for Edwin Lee Albion Street, The Butts, Coventry. The case has some wear to the engine turned detail but overall it is in nice condition for an 1870s piece.

The discrepancy in dates between the movement and the case tells us that they are not original to each other. However the winding hole is correct and the movement is probably an honest replacement.

The glass lens is in nice condition.

The dial is signed with the original retailers name Fattorini & sons, Bradford. he dial has a faint hairline crack to the outer edge at 3 o'clock but otherwise it is in nice condition.

The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.
