Antique Furniture Direct has dated this piece to the Edwardian era.
The base with a fall with leather writing surface the interior fitted with small pigeon holes. Both the top and bottom lock and come with keys. The base with single frieze drawer, above an adjustable shelf, all raised on chamfered feet. A very good quality, well-proportioned example of antique English Edwardian furniture.

Good Condition. General wear and marks commensurate with age. Some old mended splits to the vulnerable pierced fretwork of the broken arch pediment. The slide out supports come out automatically when the fall is opened, but one of the supports does not go back automatically in when the fall is closed, so needs to be manually pushed back when the fall is closed again.
