Victorian Coal Scuttle Dated 1895

Description

An elegant antique Victorian Arts & Crafts/ Aesthetic Movement coal scuttle with brass front panel and label underneath dated 1895. In beautifully figured solid walnut fancy brass carry handle to the top and a brass panel to the lid embossed with bird and butterfly. The lid with brass knob, lifts up to reveal storage space for coal, logs etc. A quality item dating with label to underneath: “November 23rd 1895. Simeon Barker Cabinet Maker and Upholsterer, Gibbet Hill & Hall Street Halifax”.

Construction/Wood:

Oak

Condition Report:

Marks and scuffs commensurate with age. Coal stains to inside. No liner and Lacking shovel.
