Youngs Antiques has dated this piece to the 17th Century.
The cupboard is constructed from oak and breaks into two sections for easy mobility. The configuration of the cupboard consists of two small cupboard doors over two large doors with the top two doors and two center panels all carved with a single diamond with fluttering pennant like terminals highly characteristic of the Dales area.
The cupboard has had a few repairs through out its life which is to be expected with its age. The stiles have been tipped at some stage, the lock in the bottom door has been replaced, however the top right door still has its original lock, there are no keys for the doors. Although the cupboard has had some repairs its pretty much in its original order and still has its original back and top boards and shelves. The overall condition is excellent.
